BJP District President Jasraj Rajpurohit accused of using indecent remarks and casteist slurs.
Shrimali Brahmin community demands a public video apology within 24 hours.
Warning of intense protests and going against BJP in upcoming elections if no apology is issued.
The community stated, 'We are descendants of Parshuram and Shankaracharya; we will not remain silent now'.
Bhinmal | A political storm has erupted in Jalore district after the Shrimali Brahmin community opened a front against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President, Jasraj Rajpurohit. The community has accused the district president of using indecent language and casteist slurs against a senior councilor and the entire community.
In protest, the community convened an emergency meeting, passed a 'censure motion,' and has given the district president a 24-hour ultimatum to issue a public apology.
What is the Controversy About?
The entire issue began with a meeting held at the Mahalakshmi Temple Dhoradhal in Bhinmal. A large number of community members, especially youth, attended the meeting, which was presided over by the Shrimali Brahmin community president, Shekhar Vyas.
Community representatives alleged that BJP District President Jasraj Rajpurohit made derogatory comments about senior councilor Shyamlal Bohra and the entire Shrimali Brahmin community. They stated that these remarks were baseless and aimed at tarnishing the community's reputation.
Allegations of a Deeper Conspiracy
Speakers at the meeting described the incident as part of a deeper conspiracy. They argued that while disagreements among political party workers can occur, using casteist slurs against a senior public representative and an entire community is unacceptable. The community declared it would strongly retaliate.
24-Hour Ultimatum and Electoral Warning
A censure motion was unanimously passed at the meeting, demanding an immediate apology from District President Jasraj Rajpurohit. The community has made it clear that he must admit his mistake within 24 hours.
The demand is that Rajpurohit apologizes publicly, creates a video of the apology, and circulates it on social media. Additionally, he must assure that he will never use such language in the future.
The Shrimali Brahmin community has issued a direct warning to the BJP. Community speakers stated that they have traditionally been BJP voters but will not tolerate this insult.
If an apology is not issued within 24 hours, the community will take to the streets for an intense protest. This will have a direct impact on the upcoming local body and Panchayati Raj elections, for which the BJP may have to pay a heavy price.
'We are Descendants of Parshuram'
The anger among the youth was palpable during the meeting. Speakers called for community unity, stating that the time for silence is over.
We are the descendants of Shankaracharya and Parshuram ji. Our Brahminhood and masculinity should not be limited to just words and feasts.
A historical reference was also made. Speakers recalled an old incident in 'Sahla,' where all Brahmins united to make a person apologize publicly and also had him punished.
Demand for Immediate Intervention from Local Leaders
The community also made a special appeal to the BJP's city presidents, Praveen ji and Navi ji, who were present on the stage. They were asked to immediately bring the seriousness of the matter to the district president's attention, as the community's youth will no longer tolerate this insult.
Following this incident, the local politics of Bhinmal and Jalore have heated up. After the firm stance taken by the Shrimali Brahmin community, all eyes are now on the next move of BJP District President Jasraj Rajpurohit. It remains to be seen whether he will apologize or if the controversy will escalate further.
