Jalore |In the lottery held on Thursday for the Panchayati Raj and local body elections in Rajasthan, the chairman's seat of the Jalore Municipal Council has become general open. Meanwhile, the seat for the Zila Pramukh has been designated as OBC open. After this change, the political equations have started to heat up.
Contest to be Interesting with General Seat
It is noteworthy that the general seat has come to the Jalore Municipal Council after many years. Last time, this seat was reserved for SC, while before that it was for OBC, and even before that, for SC.
With the general seat returning after a long time, many new contenders will now emerge, making this year's contest expected to be very interesting.
The previous board in the Jalore Municipal Council was formed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Govind Tank was made the chairman. The public had high hopes for the development of Jalore from a young chairman.
However, it is alleged that Chairman Govind Tank remained surrounded by a few specific people and did not carry out any significant development work for five years, apart from benefiting a few individuals.
Allegations of Fake Land Deeds
Not only this, but Chairman Govind Tank also faced serious allegations of issuing fake land deeds (pattas) and taking substantial money in return for them. These allegations significantly tarnished the image of the previous board.
Public Troubled by Lack of Basic Facilities
Far from development, the public in the Jalore Municipal Council area is not even getting basic facilities properly. The condition of most of the city's roads remains pathetic.
Drains and garbage are scattered in almost every ward, posing a risk of spreading diseases. The public is also troubled by the problem of street lights, and many areas plunge into darkness after evening.
Sanitation System has Collapsed
Cleaning in the city is also not being done regularly. Due to this, the people have once again been disappointed with the municipal council's board.
Even Regular Meetings Were Not Held
It is alleged that corruption was so rampant in the BJP board of the Jalore Municipal Council that even regular meetings were not held. The opposition continuously raised these issues and held protests, but the meetings were not convened.
Far from the development of Jalore, even basic problems were not resolved. The general public is distressed by the ongoing corruption in the municipal council, but no concrete action has been taken so far.
