Jaipur: Doctor Dies in Car After Petrol Runs Out, Suffocates
Jaipur | A heart-wrenching incident came to light in Jaipur on Monday, where a resident doctor was found dead inside his car. Preliminary investigation revealed that the doctor fell asleep in the car, and the vehicle's AC stopped working after it ran out of petrol, leading to his death by suffocation.

The incident occurred in the Adarsh Nagar police station area, where a car was parked on the roadside near Barafkhana for several hours. When passersby noticed a young man unconscious in the car, they immediately informed the police.

Police Broke the Car Window

The police arrived at the scene and tried to open the car, but it was locked from the inside. They repeatedly called out to the man sitting in the driver's seat, but there was no response.

Following this, the police had to break the car's window. When they opened the door and checked the man, he was found to be deceased. The deceased was identified as Dr. Sandeep Kumar Sharma (37), a resident of Udaipurwati, Jhunjhunu.

Suspected of Sleeping While Intoxicated

Dr. Sandeep was a first-year student in the Skin Department of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College. The police also found a quarter bottle of liquor inside the car, raising suspicions that he was intoxicated.

Adarsh Nagar SHO Manish Gupta stated, Prima facie, it appears that the doctor fell asleep in the car with the AC on while under the influence of alcohol. When the petrol ran out, the AC turned off, and with the windows closed, the temperature inside rose, causing death by suffocation.

According to local residents, the car had been parked at the same spot for about 5 hours. The police have collected evidence with the help of an FSL team and have sent the body to the mortuary of SMS Hospital for post-mortem.

Awaiting Post-mortem Report

The police have stated that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is available. This incident has sent a wave of grief through the medical community. The family has been informed, and further investigation is underway.
