On Wednesday, an extraordinary scene was witnessed at the famous Nakki Lake in Mount Abu. Former Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), M. L. Kumawat, took it upon himself to start cleaning after seeing the filth spread along the lake's shore. This incident raises serious questions about the functioning of the local administration.

Who is M. L. Kumawat?

M. L. Kumawat is a retired IPS officer with a very distinguished career.

He has served as the former Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF).

In addition, he has held important positions such as Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau and Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

He has also been the Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).

A Shameful Scene at Nakki Lake

On Wednesday, when Mr. Kumawat went for a walk at Nakki Lake, he was very distressed by the filth there.

Without waiting for anyone, he started cleaning himself.

He began picking up trash thrown by people, such as water bottles, and putting them in the dustbin.

Surprisingly, he also asked several people for help, but no one came forward.

People just stood by as spectators, but no one bothered to lend a hand in this noble task.

Serious Questions Raised on Administration

This incident places a big question mark on the municipality of Mount Abu, which is considered one of the wealthiest municipalities.

This municipality issues tenders worth crores of rupees for cleaning every year and also has many employees for sanitation.

Despite this, if such scenes are visible at a major tourist spot like Nakki Lake, it is extremely shameful.

For a retired high-ranking officer to have to clean himself raises questions about the dedication to duty of the local administration and its head.

A Slap on the System

This scene is a mirror for the city's leadership. They should introspect on their responsibilities and duties.

Mr. Kumawat's initiative is a message that the responsibility of keeping the city clean lies not only with the administration but with every citizen.

But it is also true that despite countless efforts and publicity, the system has failed to keep the city clean.
