Vishwajeet Singh Deora of Dodua village has created history by winning the Student Union President election at the prestigious Queen Mary University of London. He is the first Indian student to achieve this feat.
Who is Vishwajeet Singh Deora?
Vishwajeet Singh Deora hails from Dodua village in Sirohi district. He is a final-year student of the management course at Queen Mary University of London. More than 31,000 students from 170 countries study at this university.
His early education was from St. Mary's High School in Mount Abu. After that, he completed his 12th grade from Bishop Cotton School in Bangalore. Vishwajeet has also been the brand ambassador for the university for the last three years.
Vishwajeet contested the election on important issues related to students. In his manifesto, he promised paid campus jobs for students, affordable and good food on campus, and a separate student kitchen.
Additionally, he prioritized issues like solving students' rent-related problems, affordable transportation facilities, and increasing the budget for social and sports activities. These promises received immense support from the students.
Vishwajeet is from a Political Family
Vishwajeet's family has been active in politics. His father, Bhawani Singh Deora, is currently the chairman of the Village Service Cooperative Society. His mother, Girija Kunwar, is the Sarpanch of Dodua Gram Panchayat and has also been a former Zila Parishad member.
