Sikar Road: 38 Cr Drainage System Fails in First Rain
Jaipur | The new drainage system on Sikar Road in Vidhyadhar Nagar, built at a cost of about Rs 38 crore, has failed in the very first monsoon rain. This failure has raised serious questions about the functioning of the BJP government and the concerned departments.

Serious Questions Raised on Construction Quality

Former Secretary of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, Mahendra Singh Khedi, raising this issue, has exposed the quality of the construction work. He said that the system proved to be a complete failure in the first rain itself.

The public faced immense trouble due to severe waterlogging on the roads and traffic disruption. Khedi recalled that complaints regarding irregularities in this project were made last year as well.

He alleged that the government and officials were already warned about the construction quality and technical flaws, but these complaints were ignored.

Accountability of Government and Public Representatives

Mahendra Singh Khedi stated that not only the officials and contractors but also the area's MLA and the state's Deputy Chief Minister are responsible in this matter.

Khedi said, "If a project fails in the first rain despite spending crores of public money, its accountability must be fixed."

He has demanded a high-level and impartial investigation into the entire matter from the Chief Minister. He demands that the quality of the construction work be reviewed.

Additionally, strict action should be ensured against the guilty officials, contractors, and other responsible individuals. Khedi clarified that misuse of public money is not acceptable under any circumstances.

This failure has not only exposed the wastage of public money but also highlighted the lack of transparency and accountability in urban infrastructure development. The Congress has indicated that it will continue to raise this issue.
